Pollarded tree for small garden with beautiful autumn colour suggestion?

For a new border in my garden I'm looking for a tree that's suitable for pollarding and which has beautiful autumn colours (reds, oranges).
The reason I want a tree that can be pollarded is because my garden is not that big, so I want to be able to contain the size of the tree. I really love reds and oranges in autumn, and as the tree will be visible through a big window in our living room, I can enjoy the autumns colours of the tree even when I'm inside.

One species I had in mind is Quercus rubra. I've read it can be pollarded but I can't find a picture of one on the internet so I'm not sure if the result would be satisfying.
See the image attached for the kind of shape I'm aiming for. I would like to cut the tree back every winter/early spring and get new shoots of about 1 tot 2 meters in summer, so it provides a good amount of shade.

I realise this is quite a specific question, but I like to give it a go. 🙂
