I started this garden design blog to help people make the most of their outdoor space by sharing all of my garden design and horticultural knowledge in easy to digest blog articles.
It's grown pretty rapidly and is now listed as one of the UK's Top 10 Gardening Blogs! All thanks to you, the keen gardener who just wants to learn more about gardening.
Thanks for sharing my work as the Garden Ninja: Lee Burkhill
I'm here to save you time and encourage you to get the most out of your garden.
My approach to garden blogging is really simple...
I aim to provide content that helps gardeners get the most out of their gardens.
I know time is precious for most people who garden in their spare time and my gardening blogs & vlogs are here to help you succeed!
I always look at the questions I had when I was starting out and aim to help demystify both garden design and gardening skills. That way you can spend less time struggling to find the information and more time putting those new skills to practice.
Most of my Garden Ninja Gardening guides use my own garden design practice or my very own concept garden the 'Exploding Atom Garden' to demonstrate the topics in detail.
Gardening is a life-changing hobby. It frees your mind, destresses you and can bring peace to a hectic mind. So what's stopping you?
For most people going back to horticultural college to study design or plants for years is not a viable option. That's where the Garden Ninja comes into help condense that knowledge, experience and skill so you can benefit from it.
This will then give you the upper hand when it comes to turning your garden into a haven.
Whether it's a productive 'grow your own' garden or a super modern chill-out zone. I have the advice to help you achieve your goals. If you have gardening questions why not use my online gardening forum below where hundreds of Garden Ninja can help you?
Well, I'm different from a lot of bloggers as I am both an award-winning Garden Designer and writer. Providing not only the theory but demonstrating the skill and practice with my work. I not only explain how to do something but show you with my Vlogs on YouTube.
Show Garden design is a mix of both art, creativity and horticultural knowledge. Mixing all of these into a vision and then project managing it to successful construction. I've been fortunate enough to design some show gardens for wonderful clients and sponsors leading to winning the Director Generals Award at Chelsea Flower Show.
This garden blog is packed full of practical garden design tips and tricks!
Whilst show gardens are the epitome of gardening excellence I still want my garden designs to call to people and encourage them to start gardening. Even in my show garden designs, there are take-home tips and scalable ideas for even the smallest gardens.
This is why you will find all the behind-the-scenes on my show gardens and others to help get you that awesome garden look!
I recommend you make yourself a brew and start to peruse the site for all your gardening needs! The search function at the top allows you to search hundreds of articles on garden design and gardening for beginners. I've written hundreds of detailed beginner gardening guides to help get you started on your gardening journey.
For more experienced gardeners, there are plenty of detailed examples of my garden design work and plant propagation to help give you new ideas for your gardens. I also create hundreds of YouTube guides to show you the theory in practice too!

Excellent article!
I loved the tips and ideas.
Thank you for sharing with us.
I don’t know if I’m through to Lee but I just wanted to let him know that his advice about pruning hydrangeas on a youtube video that I have just watched was so clear and reassuring. Excellent. I’m gonna advertise his work to others. I don’t use facebook, Twitter or Instagram so hope he gets this. I don’t seem to be able to e-mail him directly. Keep up the good work! Well done!
